The domain Grid.xyz has just been sold for a whopping $150,000. While this may not be a jaw-dropping price for a domain name, it is quite rare to see a .xyz domain sell for six figures.
Grid.xyz was registered in 2018, and it was previously listed for sale on Dan.com for $499,888.
Only one other .xyz domain fetched six figures this year: tempo.xyz, which was sold earlier this month for $149,888. Both transactions took place at Afternic.
There has been increasing demand for .xyz domains lately, especially among blockchain startups and websites. It has become one of the most trendy TLDs in the Web3 sphere.
